Carmen & Andrew | Maternity

It’s been a busy couple of months for me! Admittedly, I am a little behind on blogging sessions.

I’ve had some great sessions with some amazing clients (I can’t stress this enough. My clients are just the best people), I’ve been acclimating to a full time job while also keeping up my photography sessions- all while planning our wedding that is in less than a month! It’s been a whirlwind but I my heart is feeling so full. I don’t know if I’m just hyper-emotional right now (who am I kidding, I’m hyper-emotional EVERY DAY) or what, but I feel so lucky to be capturing so much love for couples lately.

Carmen and Andrew came to me through mutual friends. We had a great time capturing these photos to remember the pregnancy of their precious new family member ❤

Isn’t Carmen’s flower crown (made my The Petaler Co) breathtaking? I just might have to get one for myself sometime…

The Walker Family

When Jessica contacted me about doing a family session and we discussed her vision for location, I knew exactly where I wanted to photograph this beautiful family!

Sawyer was a little reserved about me at first (hey, if I was being followed around by a stranger with a camera, I would probably be weirded out, too. No hard feelings little man). We started by reading a little with mom.

After a little acclimating though, he started to feel more comfortable, and eventually started hamming it up for us.

After a little while he decided that running around playing with mom and dad wasn’t weird at all.

Then Aunt Lally came to hang out so we could do some photos of mom and dad together.

Then the sun started doing its thing!

Hattie | Senior Session

I’m reeling. Still trying to figure out if this shoot was with a gorgeous senior girl, or a mermaid (I’m leaning toward mermaid).

Hattie is (obviously) quite the bombshell. On top of being beautiful, she also is a natural in front of the camera. She rocked the white lace FORLOVEANDLEMONS dress.

There’s nothing more fun for me than shooting a girl who is seriously into fashion. Hattie is going on to study business to become a fashion buyer. I think it’s safe to say she’ll be great at it!

Emily | Senior Session

I’m SO excited to finally blog this session. It seems that from the beginning it was us against the rain. The first half of our session was inside cozy Cat Island Coffee (Pass Christian Books) on a rainy day. We rescheduled the other half for a prettier day. Miraculously, it didn’t rain for the 45 minutes that we were on the beach. It drizzled right before and right after.

Emily is a super fun lady to be around. She is cute, quirky, and from the limited amount of time I’ve spent with her, I can just tell she is going places!

I have to give a huge thanks to Shaun at Cat Island for being gracious enough to let us use their beautiful shop. I’m quick to tell everyone I know (over and over again) how IN LOVE with this coffee shop I am. Everything about this place is heavenly- the honey lattes, fresh brewed tea, maple cheddar biscuits, the beautiful wrap-around porch, spiral staircase, the natural light just POURING in… I obviously could go on and on for days. I’m just so happy to have been able to hold such a fun session with a sweet girl here.

The beautiful latte art courtesy of one of my favorite baristas ever- Joe ❤

I never get tired of beach sessions. I feel like its such a clean backdrop to highlight everything about a person. I love overcast days at the beach because of the soft white light reflecting off the sand.

Emily and I thought the incorporation of the globe was so cool because she’s going to school for international studies!

2015-04-15_0013Have a great summer Emily! Good luck sweet girl!

Dara | Maternity

Maternity shoots are quickly becoming one of my favorites! I love photographing couples and moms-to-be and I feel like documenting this brief and precious time in a mother’s life is so important. Imagine when your child is growing up- you can show them photos you took with them before they were even born and feel the love you had for them even then. I’m so glad I got to spend time getting to know Dara and her husband Brett during this exciting time. They will be great parents and I’m sure their little man is going to be a huge heart-throb!

A lovely styled session…

(click any photo to enlarge)

I’m so excited to share these images! I have been wanting to start doing more styled sessions lately and this one just came together so effortlessly. Let me introduce you to the wonderful people who helped make this photo shoot possible:

Accessories featured in this session can be found at Prima Donna Boutique on Rue Magnolia in downtown Biloxi. I have been working with Jerika, owner of Prima Donna Boutique, for a little over a year now.

Jerika, owner of Prima Donna. Photo by Me (May 2013)

This girl is seriously a visionary. I’ve never met a brighter, more vivacious personality. When you walk into her shop you get the same impression. She offers some very gorgeous and unique vintage items as well as modern boutique selections as well.

Makeup By:

Laura Mason, Makeup Artist

Laura Mason is the amazing makeup artist I had the privilege of working with on this session. Her creativity when I came to the looks for this session really brought everything to the next level. I personally would have never thought of an electric blue under-eyeliner (but that’s precisely why we leave the makeup up to her and the photography up to me).

Onto some photos from our session! First I’d like to show off some head shots of our models immediately post makeup (because look how hot they are).

Our lovely models Amanda Palchak (left) and Emily Sholes (right)

Okay, okay, onto the rest!

Is this enough amazing hair in one photo?

All these fall colors are POPPING (and that cranberry fur vest!

Love the attitude in this one. This fur vest can be found in other colors (including a killer emerald green) at Jerika’s shop.

All this greenery was so whimsical.

Those eyebrows! Perfecto.

I’m in LOVE with this cranberry colored hat Amanda was wearing.

Belt and necklace pictured above on Amanda can also be found at Prima Donna Boutique.

Playing around with this fun necklace from Prima Donna.

Last but not least.. The kicker.. THESE SHOES. I should preface these photos by explaining that Jerika carries an array of insane/amazing/unbelievable shoes at Prima Donna. These shoes have a ballerina in the heel. You can wind them up and they play music! I’ve never seen anything like them.

Emily is looking very Nylon Magazine in that last one, don’t you think?

I just want to say thanks to Prima Donna for letting me feature her awesome products, Laura Mason for the lovely looks she created, and Amanda and Emily for rocking from beginning to end. I can’t wait to do another styled session soon!

Engagement, Portraits

Cecilia & Randy | Engagement

I LOVE doing engagement sessions. It definitely the kind of session I want to do as many of as possible. I love being able to capture a couple’s personality and chemistry in photos for them to have forever. Cecilia and Randy were a blast to shoot. We have many mutual friends already and we felt comfortable around each other immediately. They didn’t mind getting sandy on the beach or running like crazy to different places trying to get the photos before the sunset completely. I’m glad we cut it so close though, because these sunset images are GORGEOUS!

I wish these guys all the best for their future. Congratulations!!
